About Kelly

For as long as I can remember I've had the ability to connect with people in deep and meaningful ways. I have a clarity of vision that sees beyond the words or the behaviours, to see what's below the surface. "Listening with the ears of my heart" a wise teacher once said.

My first counsellor training was for a volunteer position at a family resource centre in 1998. I was required to participate in 300 hours of group therapy and skill development and then commit to 250 hours of lay counselling service in my community. I stayed for three years and contributed over 500 hours; my formal education continued from there:

• Bachelor of Social Work-University of British Columbia

• Certificate of Transpersonal Studies-Institute of Transpersonal Psychology

• Master of Transpersonal Psychology (spiritual psychology specialization)-Institute of Transpersonal Psychology

• Power of Awareness Certificate-Greater Good Science Center, University of California, Berkeley

• EMDR Level I&II-Be The Change Global Wellness

My unique education offers a fresh perspective and keen insights into the difficulties of being human. The transpersonal view explores struggles from a whole person perspective noting physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and creative capacities and imbalances. Each person is viewed in terms of potential not pathology. 

I have worked at Transition Houses, Family Service Agencies, and Alternate and mainstream schools before venturing into private counselling, transpersonal guidance, and dreamwork. 

I am a member in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers which allows me to use the designation Registered Social Worker (RSW). This regulatory body ensures I practice within a strict code of ethical guidelines and requires 40 hours of professional development a year. 

My professional interests include dream psychology and spiritual fitness. I am currently enrolled at the DreamStar Institute completing a certificate in the Five Star Method approach to dream analysis.
